Yarnell is also popular with vintage enthusiasts who travel for unique treasures from the Yarnell Emporium, Blue Adobe Vintage, Penny Lane, Days of Vintage and the Painted Lizard. The community offers historic sites: The 'Shrine of St. Joseph of the Mountains' is a presentation of the Stations of the Cross tucked into an outcrop of gray granite boulders characteristic of the Yarnell back country landscape completed with life size statues. The ranch of former AZ Senator John Hays in Peeples valley just north on SR-89 is the site of the yearly Yavapai Cattle Growers sales; the famous Kirkland Bar on the way to the Bagdad Mine; and, 'White Elephant Curve' and, 'Frog Rock' to the South. There has been a recent resurgence of interest in the Mining Industry in Yarnell since it is located in one of the most heavily mineralized areas of Arizona. Mines include the following: Rich Hill, Rincon, Hayden, and the Yarnell Mines - just four of many claims in the area. The local area was also home to two famous southwest artists: George Phippen and Cynthia Rigden.
